The product of two best friends and their disdain for awful beer, Greenport Harbor Brewing Company was founded in 2009. The two friends had their own careers in different industries but shared their love for beer. They left their day jobs and committed to the brewery.

Now, with two locations: the first is a cozy tasting room in the old Greenport village firehouse. The second is a larger locale on an acre of outdoor space, a drive away in Peconic.

Their product lineup includes different lagers, ales, and IPAs. Among their many offerings, Facing East is a fan favorite. It is a New England-style IPA with a grapefruit and apricot flavor to it. If you take one of your growlers with you, there is always a rotation of experimental brews that you can take with you. At their Peconic location, there is also a new restaurant where you can try their brew-centric bar noshes that are made using only the finest locally-sourced ingredients. The Jamesport farm brewery claims to offer a farm-to-pint brewery where the beers are made using the Jamesport farm’s own crop of barley. Their tasting rooms are built in a potato barn that also houses their microbrewery. This barn opens out into a larger lawn where you can find different seating arrangements and games. If you are lucky, you could also catch an evening of live music, food trucks, and trips around the farm on wagon rides.

Jamesport brewery makes its beer using its own wheat, barley, and hops. Farm visitors can enjoy the fresh beer as it is made. This is combined with the pet-friendly tasting room so you can bring your furry friend with you to take in the scenery.
