The product of two best friends and their disdain for awful beer, Greenport Harbor Brewing Company was founded in 2009. The two friends had their own careers in different industries but shared their love for beer. They left their day jobs and committed to the brewery.
Now, with two locations: the first is a cozy tasting room in the old Greenport village firehouse. The second is a larger locale on an acre of outdoor space, a drive away in Peconic.
Their product lineup includes different lagers, ales, and IPAs. Among their many offerings, Facing East is a fan favorite. It is a New England-style IPA with a grapefruit and apricot flavor to it. If you take one of your growlers with you, there is always a rotation of experimental brews that you can take with you. At their Peconic location, there is also a new restaurant where you can try their brew-centric bar noshes that are made using only the finest locally-sourced ingredients. The Jamesport farm brewery claims to offer a farm-to-pint brewery where the beers are made using the Jamesport farm’s own crop of barley. Their tasting rooms are built in a potato barn that also houses their microbrewery. This barn opens out into a larger lawn where you can find different seating arrangements and games. If you are lucky, you could also catch an evening of live music, food trucks, and trips around the farm on wagon rides.
Jamesport brewery makes its beer using its own wheat, barley, and hops. Farm visitors can enjoy the fresh beer as it is made. This is combined with the pet-friendly tasting room so you can bring your furry friend with you to take in the scenery. They are known to make different drinks with things such as beach plums, seaweed, and oysters, to name a few.
Among the many different drinks that they offer, their Oktoberfest and Mosaic Session IPA are heavy hitters that people enjoy. To accommodate the growing demand for their drinks, they have recently opened a brand new space that houses 60,000 barrels as well as a restaurant where customers can enjoy their beer and also some amazing food.

Compared to the other breweries on this list, it is relatively newer but in a short amount of time, it has made a name for itself. They suffer from every business’s favorite problem – they always sell out their stock. Since so many people love their product, it rarely sits on shelves.
Their most common offering is the Mofosaic, an award-winning IPA, known for its earthy and sweet taste. In their tasting room, you can choose from a selection of pints, growlers, and flights that are all ready to be picked up and enjoyed. Sand City has a vast variety to choose from and it would be safe to say that a single visit wouldn’t be enough. You would definitely have to go back at least two more times to make sure you have taken in the entire experience.
