Oxnard is known for being a major hub for transportation in California. Besides its extended coastline, Oxnard, CA, is also known for having some of the best breweries in California.

Whether you want to enjoy a cold beer alone or with friends, here are the top breweries worth visiting in Oxnard, CA.

Casa Agria Specialty Ales

Casa Agria Specialty Ales
701 N Del Norte Blvd Ste 360, Oxnard, CA 93030
(805) 485-1454

Located at 701 N Del Norte Blvd Ste 360 Oxnard, Casa Agria Specialty Ales is a hidden gem in Oxnard. The beer cave here is loaded with some great varieties. The staff there is helpful and can help you make a selection. This is the local go-to where you can get a cold beer quickly and with a smile. Since the owners have changed, the brewery has been more organized and well-stocked.

When you’re there, don’t forget to try out the favorites. You get the usual craft beer and other varieties made from fresh fruits from the area. You also get some great mixed fermented-style ales as well. The India pale ales are great and worth the visit.

Red Tandem Brewery

Red Tandem Brewery
1009 Harbor Blvd, Oxnard, CA, 93035
(805) 832-4023

This neighborhood-based, award-winning small brewery has eight taps, including the Double C-Hag Imperial IPA that won first place. All beers served at this welcoming tap house close to the Embassy Suites Mandalay Beach Resort are made on-site, and brewery tours are available upon request. This is a true boutique brewery. It is a quaint place with a nice chill vibe. All eight beers we sampled were excellent. The Kolsch was my favorite, but even the varieties I generally don’t care for were delectable. Their IPAs are remarkably well-balanced and palatable. Their nitro milk stout is excellent and light, not at all syrupy. A brewery that is a hidden treasure.

This nano-brewery offers some great beers, but the Machete Rojo, Socal, and Belgian Dubbel are worth a try. The establishment is also known for some award-winning beers, so it’s a great place to start if you want to taste the best of what Oxnard, CA, has to offer.

BJs Restaurant and Brewhouse

BJs Restaurant and Brewhouse
461 W Esplanade Dr, Oxnard, CA 93030
(805) 485-1124

The trademark attraction of BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, which is located in the Esplanade Shopping Center, is its award-winning handmade craft beers. The restaurant and beerhouse are known for delivering some quality brews and are a great addition to the laidback lifestyle that beautiful Southern California has to offer. The restaurant and beerhouse are also family-friendly. BJ’s is the perfect spot if you are looking to taste good beer with that Southern California twist that you are not going to find anyplace else.

A trip to BJ’s is always a welcome change of pace with 11 award-winning trademark beers and cider on tap and the release of over ten rotating seasonal brews throughout the year. Don’t forget the pizookie, which is another one of their handcrafted beers.

MadeWest Brewing Company

1744 Donlon St Ventura, CA 93003
(805) 947-5002

Two Ventura locals and lifelong friends who wanted to spread the love of fine handcrafted beer with others founded MadeWest. The craft beer bar is located above the restaurant on the second level and is maintained apart from the seafood restaurant and its bar. To enjoy your beer, you can order food to be carried up, but avoid ordering a drink from the ground level.

Craft brewer MadeWest operates independently. Despite having a little selection, they are excellent at what they offer. They follow the increasing IPA trend, so if your preferences are less hoppy and maltier, their style might not be your cup of tea. You will find a fair selection of beers, mostly IPAs and light beers, but the “In the Clouds” double IPA is a stand-out.

Poseidon Brewing Company

5777 Olivas Park Dr Unit Q Ventura, CA 93003
(805) 477-0239

It’s hidden in the commercial/industrial district. The greatest customer service, event planning, and, of course, the huge selection of beer make it easy to find the perfect ale to soothe your tastebuds. You will love almost everything about this atmosphere, especially the water motif. All of their beer was also excellent. A good variety of beers was available, including both kid- and pet-friendly options.

Some of the beers you will find at Poseidon worth mentioning include the Amphibious Amber Ale, Battleship Blonde Ale, and the Airhog Apricot Ale.

Transmission Brewing

1098 E Front St Ventura, CA 93001
(805) 751-4075

The name of the establishment, Transmission Brew, comes from a transmission repair company that was formerly in existence. A community dining and drinking space close to Toppers Pizza where everyone mingles, similar to the beers they manufacture and sell, a wonderful balance. Each beer has a gorgeous name that captures the character of the neighborhood and the motorhead car and motorbike enthusiasts. TVs with all the sports entertainment to feed your spirit as you eat!

Some popular drinks at this fine establishment include the Hazy IPA, Dyna IPA, and Tom Collins tonic. The Two-Tone Double IBA is also a great option if you are looking for something smooth and tasty. The pizza is available from Toppers.

Green Cheek Beer Company

2294 N Batavia St Ste C Orange, CA 92865
(714) 363-9180

Green Cheek Beer Company is an independently-owned brewery that’s run by two close friends who love sharing their love for beer with the rest of the community. Green Cheek offers a delightful atmosphere with friendly and knowledgeable staff always ready to help a man find a beer. The brewery has a great selection of beers on tap, including traditional Craft beer.

Some of the popular beers that Green Cheek offers include the West, Tasters, and Michelada, all of which have something great to offer, depending on what you’re looking for. When it comes to food, the California Burger is worth a try.

Topa Topa Brewing Company

4880 Colt St, Ventura, CA 93003
(805) 535-4366

The Topa Topa Brewing Company offers a complete atmosphere. The beer is excellent, the staff is pleasant, and they have games too. What more could you ask for? Whether you’re traveling alone or with pals, Topa Topa is happy to have you. You really can’t go wrong at this brewery since they always have a terrific selection of beers on tap, with something for every palate. These include their staple core lineup and some rotating, seasonal concoctions. Food is available on-site thanks to their extremely creative collaboration with a number of food trucks, which offer delicious meals to go along with the excellent beer.

They have a fantastic assortment of beers. The Gadadout and the Moo Bae are two of my particular faves. This place, in particular, is quite wonderful.
