Baton Rouge isn’t just Cajun cuisine, oysters, and Mardi Gras. Baton Rouge is also home to some of the most delicious craft beers and breweries in the United States. Here are a few of the best breweries in Baton Rouge, LA!

Craft beer and breweries are slowly but surely gaining popularity in Baton Rouge. New beers and breweries keep popping up – utilizing local ingredients, creating beers to pair with local cuisines, and of course, getting you drunk for a good night out! Here is the list of our favorite Baton Rouge breweries!

Whether you are visiting or live in Baton Rouge, these breweries are a must-try in Louisiana!

Rally Cap Brewing Company

11212 Pennywood Ave, Baton Rouge, LA, 70809
(225) 610-9523

Founded and located in the Siegen Lane Industriplex Park of Baton Rouge, the Rally Cap Brewing Company is a baseball and sports-themed brewery in a great area. The space is ample, the staff is friendly, and the beers are tasty! People who might not be into sports can also enjoy their time with board games, trivia nights, and, of course, their delicious craft beers.

The Rally Cap Brewing Company produces and releases new beers every Friday – using high-quality ingredients and without skimping on hops! As such, they have a beer to match every taste! We’d recommend tasting the brewery’s most popular beer, the First Pitch hazy pale ale. Another beer we really like is their new summer beer, the Wendy Peffercorn, which is a great beer to end a long summer day with!

Tin Roof Brewing Co.

1624 Wyoming St, Baton Rouge, LA 70802
(225) 377-7022

Located in a prime location, right between downtown Baton Rouge and LSU, the Tin Roof Brewing Co. Is Baton Rouge’s largest brewery. One of the first breweries in Louisiana, the Tin Roof Brewing Co slowly made craft beers and distilleries popular in Baton Rouge. The brewery features a tap room, the brewery, of course, and a large outdoor space, which is one of the best parts of this brewery. It is a place not just for beer-lovers but for anyone and everyone to have a good time! They host a number of events and happenings, too, like their weekly ‘Yoga on Tap’ events. The brewery, taproom, and outdoor space can also be rented out for events, parties, and receptions!

At Tin Roof Brewing Co, you can get traditional beers and some experimental ones. Some of their crafts require extensive ‘beer tasting experience,’ while others can be enjoyed by all. For the summer, we really like their West Coat-style IPA, citrussy-yet-bitter, ‘Road House.’ Another fan favorite is their American Pale Ale ‘Voodoo,’ which is an aromatic, tropical, and golden beer.

Cypress Coast Brewing Co

5643 Government St, Baton Rouge, LA 70806
(225) 317-0881

Founded by two passionate home brewers, the Cypress Coast Brewing Co, located on Govt. St, in close proximity to a bunch of shops, restaurants, and an amazing taco place, it is a great brewery to stop by and sip on a tasty beer. They have a cozy, garage-type minimalistic indoor space and an amazing outdoor patio space with seating – their spaces are also dog-friendly! The atmosphere, both inside and out, is welcoming and relaxing. Their beers are rotated often, and they have beers for all kinds of tastes!

Cypress Coast Brewing Co isn’t afraid of experimenting with new ingredients and new flavors. You can expect to taste a new flavor every time you visit! We love their New England hazy IPA, the ‘Juice Box Haze.’ Cypress Coast Brewing’s ‘Bikini Bottom’ IPA is another tropical, coconut-y, and pineapple-y fan favorite. For those who like a little bitterness in their beer, their American IPA ‘Checkbox’ is bitter, crisp, and fruity!

Le Chien Brewing Company

101 S Hummell St, Denham Springs, LA 70726

Le Chien, or ‘the Dog’ in French, is located in the Antique Downtown District just outside Baton Rouge. Le Chien Brewing Company offers great entertainment, music, food, and beers with a unique vibe due to its modern yet rustic architecture. There is ample indoor space and a great outdoor dog-friendly, paved space. They also rent out their space for various events and parties.

Le Chien Brewing Company is a micro-brewery, which means they are continuously experimenting with small batches of brews. Their beers keep rotating, and what you like once might not be available the next time you visit! We really enjoyed Le Chien’s fruited Berliner Weisse ‘Blackberry Lemonade Sour’, which is sour and fruity! Another one of their latest brews is the ‘Berry & the Jets.’ A sour beer packed with fruited berries and cherries, providing an explosion of flavor.

MID TAP

660 Arlington Creek Centre Blvd Suite D, Baton Rouge, LA 70820
(225) 663-6800

MID TAP is a one-stop shop for all your drinking, eating, and entertainment needs! They offer almost 50 beers, with fan favorites remaining constant and new and exciting rotating flavors. The space is fun, with various events happening every day – happy hours, bingo, bottomless brunches, and more! With self-service taps, allowing you to drink as much as you want (or can), and yummy sides and main courses to keep you going!

MID TAP’s ‘Barney’ Fruit Beer is an amazing double IPA, especially paired with their Pulled Pork sliders. Their ‘Rocket Pop’ Gose is another great summer Gose made with blackberries, cherries, and lime. They also have a bunch of cocktail options that pair well with their menu for those who love cocktails.

Agile Brewing

14141 Airline Hwy Suite 4J, Baton Rouge, LA 70817
(225) 427-0630

One of the newest breweries in Baton Rouge, Agile Brewing, just opened right where the Southern Craft Brewing Company closed. Founder, Keith Primeaux, named the brewery ‘agile’ because he thinks that’s what craft beer should be about – always transforming and changing, fast!

There are many beers to choose from at Agile Brewing in a wide range of flavors and tastes along with a food menu to satisfy any cravings. When it comes to the drinks, we especially love their imperial IPA, the ‘Fast Paste.’ Agile Brewing’s Oatmeal stout, ‘Agile Panda,’ is also a great and unique beer that you might actually fall in love with. Agile Brewing’s fan favorite is the ‘Corrupt Cake.’ A double milk stout with coffee!
