What is one of the delicious Meatless Monday meals you are going to enjoy today?
We actually have a terrific variety of meatless meals daily at the Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens. (For just one example, the Spicy Beef & Broccoli Stir-Fry can easily be made with tofu, tempeh, or more veggies in place of the beef). However, for Meatless Monday, we turn our regular menu on its head by offering up an entirely vegetarian selection. I’ll often pick one of my favorites that’s in the “always meatless” category, and that’s our Tempeh “Fuego Burger,” which is a house-made spicy veggie ‘burger’ (a loose term, admittedly), with the option of cheese or no cheese (thus easily vegan). Spicy goodness!
What delicious organic or local beverage will you pair with your meatless meal?
There’s always an array of great local IPAs on tap here, as many San Diego brewers specialize in the style, and nothing goes better with the Fuego Burger than a great San Diego-style IPA!
Why have you decided to take the pledge?
We took the pledge because conscious and conscientious consumerism has always been one of our core principles at Stone. Meatless Monday falls directly in that. There’s no question that as a society we eat way more meat than is healthy for us or for the environment, so the promotion of cutting meat out completely one day a week seems like the least we can do!
