Daily Beer Review: Bison Organic Honey Basil

Nice aroma. Pronounced basil, fresh from the herb garden, takes turns with a more muted honey scent. Very interesting. Sweet honey translates right into the first sip; however, a quick herbal basil punch takes away some of that and offers a slight cooling sensation. This basil is powerful and immediately identifiable, assuming you have ever cooked in the kitchen, even once. So far, the basil and honey complement each other wonderfully.

Hop Talk: Bison Organic Chocolate Stout

The nose has a definite chocolaty feel, as does the lingering aftertaste. You get strong hints of coffee and a roasted finish that leaves the mouth with a caramel thickness that is not at all unpleasant. The Organic Chocolate Stout comes in at 5.0% ALC/VOL.

Evidently Bison uses cocoa powder in the mash, and it really comes through nicely without overpowering the smooth stout taste. Combine that with 5 different malts, and you have a stout on hand that tastes good, as well as feels good, being organic and all.

Brewed For Thought Beer of the Week: Bison Brewing Imperial Brown

"In the end, this Imperial Brown at 7% is a California session beer. Easy to drink and smooth going down, I could see having a couple pints at a time. While the weather is still damp, be sure to grab some for your fridge. A beer like this will encourage you to stay inside and out of the rain."
