Sweet honey and herbaceous basil meld together with soft vanilla and oak flavors this refreshingly carbonated beer-inspired twist on the classic Mint Julep.
The inspiration for the unique cocktail is Bison's Organic Honey Basil Ale — a artisanly crafted beer brewed with fresh whole leaf basil and raw organic honey.
Honey Basil Julep
- 1.5 oz. Bourbon
- .5 oz. Honey Syrup (instructions below)
- 3 oz. Honey Basil Ale
- Fresh Basil Leaves
Muddle 2-3 leaves of fresh basil with the honey syrup in a shaker pint for roughly 15-20 seconds. Add Bourbon and ice, shake and strain into a glass with ice. Top with 3 oz. of Honey Basil Ale and garnish with a basil leaf.
Boil 1 cup of water. Add 1 cup of honey, stir until dissolved. Cool and tranfer into an empty bottle of container. Refridgerate when not in use.
